Festival de la Loteria

Festival de la Lotería

A Celebration of Culture, Community & a Little Bit of Luck

Downtown Kingsville · April · Free to Attend
Overview

Color, Community & a Cause

Every spring, downtown Kingsville comes alive with color, laughter, and the call of "¡Buena!" as the community gathers for the Festival de la Lotería. Inspired by the beloved Mexican card game that has been a staple of family gatherings for generations, this free, family-friendly festival blends cultural tradition with community pride — and raises funds for a cause close to home.

The festival is hosted in partnership with Keep Kingsville Beautiful, with proceeds supporting local beautification projects, cleanup efforts, and educational programs that keep Kingsville looking and feeling its best.

What to Expect

  • Play Lotería

The heart of the festival is the game itself. Three rounds of Lotería are played throughout the day, with prizes including bikes, beach chairs, native trees, gift cards, and even a two-night stay at Baffin Bay. Cards are sold in sets of 2 for $20 per round — a small price for a chance at big prizes and a lot of fun.

  • Food & Vendors

Local food trucks and vendors fill the streets of downtown Kingsville, offering everything from traditional South Texas favorites to handmade goods. It's a great opportunity to support local small businesses while you play.

  • Kids Zone

A dedicated kids area keeps younger festivalgoers entertained with activities designed for the whole family to enjoy together.

  • Costume Contest

Dress up as your favorite Lotería card character and compete for prizes in the costume contest. El Catrín, La Sirena, El Valiente — the options are endless.

  • Car Show

A classic car show rounds out the day's entertainment, drawing entries from across the region.
